Driving laws are pretty strict about who can drive a vehicle when injured or disabled. An example is not able to drive the vehicle if cannot operate signals without taking 1 hand off steering wheel. A broken arm, injury, or possibly Rotator Cup surgery come to mind. Also operating the gas/brake pedals. A right leg injury could ground you till recovered. And don’t think about driving while injured. My son was stopped for illegal lane change (didn’t signal). He is a stroke victim-no use of left arm. The officers will not let you drive away and you will receive a fine, and notices from state about having to have evaluation and take drivers test with proper adaptive equipment installed. Not fun and not cheap.
At Johnson Hand Controls we have a full range of driving adaptive equipment and accessories that we can either sell or rent, depending on your needs. Please give us a call.
